Google Shuts Print Ad Buying Service
January
21st
Google’s print buying service has gone the same way as Lively (Google’s alternative to Second Life) and Jaiku (its Twitter-like app)Â and is to be shut down as of Feb 28th. This service was on trial in the US and never made it across the pond to the UK, Google have stated that advertisers, agencies and Google themselves were not seeing the return they hoped for and as a result no more money will be invested into the offering. Interesting to see another cost cutting exercise from Google. The full article from NMA can be read here

Its also interesting that Google has resigned to not controling the offline world with its automated model that works so well online. It will be interesting to see if they succeed with their radio initiatives..
