Amazon squares up to Apple and launches its own apps for Kindle

Is Amazon a little worried about competition from the Apple Tablet? The supposedly full colour, app enabled Apple Tablet device could be quite the rivel to Amazons ebook reader – the Kindle and it looks like Amazon is trying to level the playing field a little by adding apps to its own Device.
“Amazon, mere hours after announcing a fairer (if stricter) revenue share for publishers, has pulled another rabbit out of its hat: It’s letting developers build apps for the Kindle. Fascinating idea, but can it save the Kindle before the Apple Tablet arrives?”
