Yahoo Enters the Android Market

Yahoo have announced the release of two new free apps and a free widget for the Android market. The first of the applications to reach the Android market is their Yahoo! Messenger app, and the second a Yahoo! Mail app. The widget for Android is a simple search widget (like the Google Search widget) which will allow users to search on the Yahoo Search Engine directly from the Android Homepage. They have also announced new iPhone HTML5 Web apps for both Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! News. This is a big step for Yahoo into the Mobile Market and if successful I’m sure we’ll be seeing more from them in the coming months.
