Google +: Getting Started
Google launched its social network recently, which is called Google Plus. Google’s goal is to create a social network that is able to compete with Facebook. Here is a quick guide on how to get an invitation and some of its features.
Step 1: Get an invitation
To create an account you need an invitation which can be achieved in 2 ways: a person who already has an accounts sends you an invite or you signing up for the waiting list.
- Step 2: Create public profile and link it with your Picasa album (if you have one)
Once you have been invited yo join you need to create a public profile using your Google account, and link it to your Picasa Web account (Google Image hosting service) because that’s where the images you upload to Google + will be saved. Don’t worry about space as images from Google + don’t count toward the limit of Picasa web storage.
Step 3: Add publications, contacts, friends, family, co-workers, etc.
Congratulations, you’re in! Now you can do status updates, invite friends, and organize meetings.
