Youtube tries out flashless videos with HTML5

Thanks to the new HTML5 Standards you can play videos directly through html with no plugins required. Naturally Youtube has taken advantage of this and has been running a few beta tests on the idea with full html video pages.

Geocities residents forced to relocate

Today marks the end of an era. Over 18 million websites are being deleted and Yahoo!’s free hosting service Geocities is being shut down for good. Long-forgotten personal sites lying dormant on their servers would occasionally pop up in a Google search and remind us all of the early days of HTML.
