Social Networks overtake Search Engines in UK Traffic

Experian Hitwise today announced figures that showed social networks have become more popular than search engines in the UK.

It seems that as of 25th March at 12pm (GMT) Youtube.com is down and is returning an “Http/1.1 Service Unavailable” error. Is the internet falling apart? wikipedia, google analytics, twitter and now youtube, which site is going to break next?

The BBC’s ‘Visual Graphic’ of the Top 100 Sites

As part of their ‘Superpower’ season, the BBC have created an ‘Interactive Graphic’ showing the internet’s top 100 websites in terms of monthly traffic, as measured by Nielson.

Youtube tries out flashless videos with HTML5

Google Introduce Automatic Captions for YouTube

Today Google introduced a new feature on YouTube, Automatic Captions. This will enable users to get captions on any video uploaded onto YouTube. To enable captions; simply click on the bottom right of a video and click on the CC button. YouTube is using the technology from Google Voice to automatically create the captions. See [...]

YouTube Adds In Depth Stats to Videos

YouTube have recently added a new statistics feature to it’s videos which allows users to:
– View how many views the video has had on a timeline
- View which websites have embedded their video and when (this is then relayed on the timeline)
- View Refferals from other YouTube videos

YouTube to take on Google Adwords Sponsored Search Model
